Full-Time Farm Hand
COMPENSATION
- Pay: $17.00 - $20.00/hour
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 1+ year of related farming experience
What you'll be doing in this role...
Under the direction of the Farm Manager, the Farm Hand position works to achieve the company’s objectives in the production of fruit, vegetables, herbs, flowers honey, and eggs, and maintaining our farm property.
- Fieldwork: planting, weeding, mulching, irrigation, spraying, pest/disease management, seed collecting
- Greenhouse work: sowing, thinning, potting up, propagation
- Harvesting & post- harvest handling: washing, sorting, packing
- Consistent, thorough, and timely communication with peers and management
- What we grow or what the farm is referred to. It’s a market garden whom focuses our attention on organically growing vegetables, flowers, fruits and specific livestock for the greater north bay community.
- This job and we grow vegetables year around.

- Ability to work cohesively with fellow colleagues as part of a team with minimum supervision
- Completing assigned tasks in a timely manner.

- The ability to stand, walk, stoop, bend, push/pull, crouch, crawl, reach with hands and arms, and frequently lift up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift/move 50 pounds
- Continual use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills
- Set schedule of Monday through Friday sunrise to eight and a half hours later. Hours change with the seasons light hours.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to perform the essential job functions consistently, safely and successfully with federal, state, and local standards
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
- Ability to stand and/or sit for prolonged periods of time
- Ability to physically maneuver through work areas; bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, climb stairs and steps, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
